Practising visual memory
The pattern activity is deliberately simple: look at a grid with highlighted cells, continue when you are ready, and recreate what you saw. The challenge is not to name the pattern but to hold its positions long enough to reproduce them.
Notice relationships
Instead of memorising every cell as an isolated fact, look for structure. Are the highlighted cells clustered, mirrored, or arranged along an edge? Grouping information into a meaningful shape can make it easier to keep in mind.
Recall is different from recognition
Seeing the original grid and thinking “that looks familiar” is recognition. Rebuilding it after it disappears is recall. The activity gives you a small chance to practise the second skill without adding a timer or a progress system.
Keep the result in perspective
A missed cell does not say anything broad about your memory. It only shows what happened in one short attempt. Notice what made the pattern easier or harder, then try another one if you want to.
